If Cuba hopes to attract medical tourists they will have to do so by reputation and not rely on marketing campaigns.  Stories like this that might otherwise ‘go quietly into the night’ will instead be kept alive by medical tourism social networks publishing 1st hand accounts and reports pertinent to consumers searching for trusted medical care resources abroad.

An upside of medical tourism social networks is that they become a force for change anytime they shine a bright light on medical negligence.  The result will be to raise the standard of care not just for medical tourists but for indigenous populations.
